The railroad variously chugged,
roared, rolled, pounded and pulsed its way through Canyon County History.
Our own museum is housed in the old Union Pacific Depot in Nampa. With
both Caldwell and Nampa vying for the title of southwest Idaho's premier
railhead, much of the character of the county was, and continues to be,
influenced by that usually friendly competition. Our Wall of Fame honors
the Idaho railroad pioneers who kept the trains rolling. Outside the south
end of the museum, tour the caboose, donated by the Union Pacific Railroad, and
learn about how old-time railmen lived. |
